From cold the chamber closes 55% of the gap to its setpoint each cycle and anneals nothing until it is within 3%, so the first batch waits five cycles for heat and every batch after it takes one. Switch off and the heat drains the same way — the stock the first batch paid for is gone, and the next start is a cold start again.
