Nineteen points that each remember where they were, not how fast they were going. Gravity moves them, then six relaxation passes pull them back to segment length. Dragging one by hand and letting go produces a real throw for free — the velocity is the gap between this frame and the last.
Only the over-length is corrected. Webbing resists being stretched and does nothing about being compressed, so the strap goes slack and bunches when you toss the badge upward, and stretches when you haul on it — which is exactly what the pull gauge measures.
Pull past the trigger and the strap arms. Let go and the badge takes one full turn, swapping the theme at 90° — while it is edge-on and neither face is readable. The switch lands inside the one frame you cannot see.
